The Challenge

The primary challenges were twofold:

  1. A website that was difficult to navigate, creating frustration for users.
  2. Limited flexibility for staff to manage and update content efficiently.

St Michael’s sought a digital solution that would reflect its forward-thinking educational approach while celebrating its rich traditions.

The existing website, a text-heavy and outdated platform, failed to capture the school’s ethos of inclusivity and opportunity or meet the needs of its diverse audience of parents, pupils, and staff.

The Solution

Visual storytelling: Partnering with photographer Andy Le Gresley and video producers Slingshot Films, the website features dynamic, high-quality imagery and video content to showcase the vibrant school community and facilities.

Engaging features:  Integration of the school’s Instagram feed and a dedicated news section ensured the website remains dynamic and current, offering real-time glimpses into daily school life.

Comprehensive navigation:  A reimagined structure guides users through the unique experiences at each stage of education, from nursery to Year 9, with dedicated areas for admissions, events, and policies.

Intuitive tools for staff:  We made it easy for the team to manage bios, events, and policy updates. We also pull news directly from the school’s parent portal.

Collaborative process: Weekly meetings with the St Michael’s team kept the project aligned with their expectations, with regular feedback shaping the final design.
