The Challenge
Due to the wide variety of people accessing the website, the design and UX needed to be super simple, clean and clear so anyone could easily find the information they needed quickly.
The delivery of training is an important facet of what the SPB undertake, so a suitable learning management system (LMS) was needed to enable people to book onto training, and the SPB team to manage the bookings and delegates as effectively as possible.
Lastly, a lot of the information the SPB provide is contained within PDFs and Word documents so a way of making these resources easily accessible was also needed.
The Solution
Simple fonts and colours were chosen to help people with visual impairments and rather than photography, we opted for illustrations that allowed for an upbeat portrayal of what is often a sensitive subject.
We opted for a 3rd party LMS that had a realm of features allowing the team to automate things like waiting lists, certificates and reminders that that had previously been dealt with manually.
We also implemented a document library and categorised the the documents within it under logical groups, as well as integrating a sophisticated search facility that could index within PDFs.
