The Challenge
A key challenge was managing the differing expectations of twelve customers (eleven parishes and the Comité des Connétables). It was decided early on that the websites should have a consistent appearance, however each parish needed flexibility to add their own content and make their website their own. This balance was kept by fortnightly meetings of the website project team and feedback to the parish secretaries in their monthly meetings.
The Solution
The new websites offer a far superior user experience with a clean intuitive design, streamlined menu, user-friendly search and effective homepage to guide parishioners to the content they need quicker. They are more accessible to users with visual impairments, have automated translations to Portuguese and Polish and have page titles in both English and Jerriais to give homage to the local dialect.
Newly introduced functionality for parishioners include the ability to sign up for parish news and event information via email, make payments to the parish online and provide discrete feedback on both good and bad experiences when interacting with the parish.
